Our commitment

Sweet Basil wants everyone — including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology — to be able to find our hours, menu, and contact information, and to reach us easily. We aim to build and maintain this site in line with common accessibility practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

What we've done

• Used semantic headings and landmarks so page structure reads correctly with assistive technology.
• Written descriptive alt text for meaningful images and marked decorative images so they're skipped by screen readers.
• Kept navigation reachable by keyboard, including the site menu.
• Chosen text and background colors with readability in mind, and respected reduced-motion preferences for anyone sensitive to animation.

Known limitations

This site embeds some third-party content — a Google Maps location embed and, on order/booking links, external services such as Uber Eats — which we don't control and can't guarantee meet the same standard. We're continuing to review the site and improve accessibility over time.
